UI UX CASE STUDY

ft. NOBROKER

Overview

Nobroker is one of the top platforms in India for those looking for, owning, and representing real estate without involving any middlemen. It provides a wide area of services, from assisting with hassle-free transactions and payments to identifying the ideal properties to buy, rent, or sell. It helps users to save time and money.

Why NoBroker.?

When I moved to a new city, I looked up for a place for rent. So I used Nobroker for a while. Even though it has a good amount of design ideas, there are repetitive information which led to overcrowded screen and I find it is cluttered. As a product designer I wanted to redesign it.

Introduction

Solution

I took the existing mobile app, broke it apart and put it back together in my point of view with my design ideas. I have tried to remove the repetitive information to avoid overcrowded screen.

User Research

After conducting thorough user research, they highlighted challenges in the current user interface. Users expressed a desire for enhanced user interface and easy access to the features. Consequently, the redesign strategy was shaped by these findings, leading to the introduction of a novel feature aimed at seamlessly connecting users with potential flatmates. This user-centric approach ensures that the redesigned NoBroker app not only addresses the current needs of its user base but also anticipates and accommodates the evolving dynamics of shared living experiences, filling a crucial gap in the existing platform.

Insights

  • Incomplete or inaccurate property information frustrates users.

  • Search filters lack specificity, resulting in irrelevant search results.

  • Complicated user interface and navigation make it challenging to use the app.

Competitive Analysis

Competitive analysis provides strategic insights into the features of the competitors. I did competitive analysis of 99acres, Magicbricks and Nobroker.

User Persona

After collecting data from interviews and surveys, I created personas that represent the ideal users of our application. Since I am also a user, I'll go with my user persona. It will helping us find improved solutions by giving us a deep understanding of the users' goals, frustrations, and overall personality.

User flow

This is the modified user flow of the NOBROKER application. I focused on simplifying the user journey to make the user experience more friendly and interactive to the users.

Conclusion

As I said earlier, I have broke apart the existing user interface of NOBROKER and put it back together with my design ideas. Working with a non-profit was something new to me when I chose this project. However I wanted to take a case study with my personal experience. I hope I made it.

According to Hick's law, I designed the user interface with minimum choices. The previous user interface had many options which made it overcrowded in the first place.

What I learned,

Understand your project

The biggest takeaway from this entire project has been the fact that designs are living things. They are constantly changing and iterating, for better or for worse.

Accessibility vs. Aesthetics

As this is my first Ux Ui design of an mobile application, I got to learn about the color theories and iconography and somewhat of interaction designs.
